Swing Life Away - Rise Against |

This thing has become so neglected... I think the reason that I don't even update anymore is because I don't want to deal with looking at what I have to say.
Charleston is no more as of recently. I am now living in Asheville, North Carolina. And now that I note this, I must also make a mental note to go through all my online profiles and change my user info on everything. The town itself is very nice. It fits all my desires for a town... In fact, I fear to say that I like Asheville quite a bit. The atmosphere is quite european. Sophisticated but earthy. It feels right. I can spoil myself with the four or five Starbucks enterprises that are all within about a ten minute drive from me.
Yes. I am a starbucks whore.
But somehow, I still feel quite void here. I am once again living with my parents... and if any of you knew the history of that, then you would understand the ackwardness of the situation at hand. Although my parents and I now get along it still seems all fucked up. I really never wanted to be here again... other than for some casual visit with full opportunity to pack up and leave and go back to my own home whenever I choose.
Another bit of news that may shock some of you out of your little seats... I no longer smoke. Part of the stipulation of me being allowed to have a place to live here was that I did not smoke at all... Which I seem to have somehow succeeded in defeating this addiction... Now the thing with this is though... I don't fiend for a cigarette anymore.... not to say that I don't think about having one quite often, but I don't get to the point where I'm balled up on the floor crying for one anymore. But, I have decided that I really dont want to stop smoking. And as soon as I get out of basic training, I am going to go out and buy myself a pack of Newports... and I am going to enjoy it, because when I am smoking a cigarette, I feel like me. Right now, I don't feel like myself. I don't feel right. I feel like some drone going through the steps of survival, which in some ways I am. It's not a terrible thing, but it's not what I want in life. No one wants to be a drone.
Tomorrow, Chuck, the general manager from the Texas Roadhouse here is going to try once again to get ahold of Gary, the general manager in N. Charleston. And hopefully after that he will give the okay for me to go ahead and start working because as nice as this break has been, the bills have not stopped... and I would really like to get things back on the right track again and get a cell phone plan set up.
Well I guess that's it for now.
Rob

I drifted back into a previous world of mine most recently as I showered today. Singing the words to songs I wrote long ago as a completely different person. I dont believe anyone reading this... other than one person who was probably closest to me at this point in my life, will really understand the transformation of self i have made in the past 5 years, but to say the least, it is extreme. I tell my tables at work often... these single serving friends of mine... how much i miss ohio... and how i spent the best and worst days of my life there... but now im sitting here wondering if it was really ohio that i missed... i think not.
now rock n roll is a eulogy some sex, some drugs, some booze the very soul of strong mans heart who's got nothing left to lose

Don't Stop Believing - Phil Collins |
] |
So. It has been an ungodly amount of time before I last updated my journal... and perhaps my reason for avoiding it over the past few months has been simply that I have not cared to rehash the daily events of my life. Not particularly that the event have been all bad, but stressful enough that I have cared not to rehash my hardships onto my livejournal. Today White Noise came out on dvd... and to say the least... it was an awesome movie... I've been quite the movie whore lately now that I have the movie pass thing at blockbuster... very good deal... I think so anyhow... So I still havent officailly been booked a job in the Air Force yet. Although I did have to go and do one of my mile and a half DEP runs... which wasnt nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be. This smoker wasnt hacking up anything... just had really sore muscles thats all. Electronic jobs should be dropping sometime soon... so Im keeping my fingers crossed... i think i only have until the end of august for living in the place im in right now... then im not sure what is going to happen... So, I'll end it there for now. Oh... I got a Phil Collins record and a Journey record to add to my collection... Toodles

So I guess it's time to make a post... It's been quite a while... Lately I've been working almost every day trying to pay the bills, and to be quite honest... it's starting to get quite exhausting. Furthermore... Aiden has an ear infection and he's cranky, and even further into the delves of this life... the lady that owns the land we are staying on is selling in august so we will have to move... sigh... the timing couldnt be worse.
PS. Richard ( cowboirichie ) .... i need to talk to you.

12 Reasons Why Homosexuals Shouldn't Marry
1. Homosexuality is not natural, much like eyeglasses, polyester, and birth control.
2. Heterosexual marriages are valid because they produce children. Infertile couples and old people can't legally get married because the world needs more children.
3. Obviously, gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.
4. Straight marriage will be less meaningful if Gay marriage is allowed, since Britney Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage was meaningful.
5. Heterosexual marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are property, blacks can't marry whites, and divorce is illegal.
6. Gay marriage should be decided by people, not the courts, because the majority-elected legislatures, not courts, have historically protected the rights of the minorities.
7. Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America.
8. Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.
9. Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.
10. Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why single parents are forbidden to raise children.
11. Gay marriage will change the foundation of society. Heterosexual marriage has been around for a long time, and we could never adapt to new social norms because we haven't adapted to things like cars or longer life spans.
12. Civil unions, providing most of the same benefits as marriage with a different name are better, because a "separate but equal" institution is always constitutional. Separate schools for African-Americans worked just as well as separate marriages for gays and lesbians will.

So I sat down again today to read Fight Club the novel... and I was wondering if anyone noticed and cared to explain a discrepancy at the begginning of the book. It says that "Jack" has been going to Remaining Men Together for two years, then later it explains that Bob has had testicular cancer for 6 months... then fastforward and you have Jack explaining crying into Bob's chest at one of the meetings. The problem here-in comes a few lines later when Jack says "That was two years ago". Why would Bob be at a Remaining Men Together meeting before he had testicular cancer? Perhaps I have misread... please shed any light that you can.

You scored as Labret Piercing. You probably intimidate a whole lot of people without really meaning too. If people could just get past the many tattoos, piercings, and sideburns I'm sure they'd love you. Or still be scared, who knows.
